Thank you to all the kind words! it is so rewarding to help this crowd, but what a bonus to hear the customer satisfaction! Some people took the time to provide some very in-depth feedback, I greatly appreciate it!

“I recently attended Caruso Precisions 2-day training class. then I had my best finish ever placing 5th! As a new shooter in my first year there were lots of errors in my process, and this training significantly helped”

“I wanted to give props where props is due! Training Like this is key, having someone watch and critique you will make you better. For me, that was Matt Caruso. Thank you for the class!”

“I have seen great improvements since the class! There are at least 3 things I do now at every match now that I know have added points to my score.”

“I would definitely recommend this class. I haven't had training that was as detailed and provided you with a debrief like this.

Matt is a very good instructor and it's evident he really cares about your success.”

“I met Matt at one of my first matches. It was clear he had a deep understanding of the long range discipline, and a strong desire to help others learn, so I took a class with him the following year. We discussed and practiced ideas and drills appropriate to my abilities at the time, and it definitely helped me improve my skills to the next level!”

“For anyone looking to learn more about long range shooting and getting more shots on target, instruction from Matt is an excellent way to accomplish both!”

“I’ve learned that time and money spent toward training far outweighs the benefits of buying the next new piece of equipment.”

“I have attended numerous PRS training sessions with top ranking shooters around the country. Matt Caruso instructs an outstanding training session that is very well thought out and organized. There is a good balance of class time and shooting, as well as Q&A.”

“One of the things I was most impressed with was that I received an extremely detailed report of Matt’s observations of my performance while shooting. This included critiques & suggestions on how to work through issues & practice more effectively. I’ve never had that level of attention to my personal performance at any other training session. This allowed me to improve my practice time, making it more efficient & productive, translating into higher scores on game day.”

Jon, Advanced Competitor Class 2025

“The best investment you can make to better yourself as a shooter! Matt is a fantastic instructor & the class was awesome.”

“It was a great mix of classroom & range time with tailored attention to each individual shooter.”

“Cannot recommend this enough!”

Scott, Advanced Competitor Class 2025

“Matt started helping me when I first started shooting PRS in production division. Within my first year of shooting and working with him, I was winning local matches and doing much better than I had ever anticipated. Very rarely do the people who have the talent to compete at the top level also have the ability to teach those skills in a meaningful way. Dont just think you are going to be working with one of the best shooters. You are also going to be spending time with one of the best teachers.”

“Bottom line up front: worth the money

My background for context is a relatively large amount of experience in the military sniper world attending the best courses in that arena as well as competing in many military sniper competitions with success. I have shot NRL Hunter as well as PRS. I have shot PRS when my schedule allows for 3 years now. 2025 was the first year I bought a PRS number, and the year I attended this training. I would classify myself as an upper midpack shooter usually finishing 20th-30th. I have had better finishes when the stars align.

Matt Caruso and Keith Rudasill ran the training together at Cool Acres Sporting Club at Swainsboro Georgia the week leading up to the fall 2 day pro match.
Note on the instructors: This combination was extremely beneficial to me and others in the class felt the same way. They are not both parroting the same things. From what I’ve seen of the best pro shooters they agree on the fundamentals but often disagree on specific techniques. When ever one of those situations happened Matt and Keith were often on different sides of the fence and the class was able to either choose to stick with the instructor who uses their chosen technique to help refine it or an expert in the other technique they may be willing to learn.

Pre match: Matt sent out a thorough pre match shooter survey that was taken into account throughout the course and also used in the post training AAR.

Course: The course had an ideal structure for optimal learning. A challenge of teaching an advanced competitor class is that is a wide range of self identified advanced shooters, Matt did a great job going over, in as much detail as requested, any PowerPoint or video he was sharing, and skipping through any topic everyone was confident on to optimize range time. He did cover things in the PowerPoints or video breakdowns that I had lightbulb moments from.

The class frequently moved from “classroom” to the range to execute a drill, or to do a practical exercise on what was just covered.

We covered all of the topics you would expect at a PRS course, did drills focusing on speed, drills focused on analyzing mistakes/misses and applying an appropriate correction. We raced other students in competition like scenarios. The final day was a mini comp with coaching after every run.

Matt did a great job capturing videos of everyone’s runs during the drills and breakdown areas for improvement.
During the course all students were provided with many different take home materials that I still reference and will continue to indefinitely. He covers it all; he provides enough materials I don’t think you have to take notes, although i wouldn’t recommend against it. This is great for when you forget any of this stuff 6 months later, you have a reference to refresh your memory.

Matt’s quick reference guide book is worth just about any price he could ask for it, so if you get the opportunity — purchase one.

After the course was over I received a detailed AAR of the course and my specific performance as well as a breakdown of my strengths and weaknesses and how to improve those.

As far as perceived value I do not think there could be more from this course.

The following would be my recommendation for attending this course based off of a few metrics.

Mil shooter with sniper school and at least one other sniper course:

take this class whether you are trying to get into PRS or just want to be a better shooter. It is geared towards PRS but if you don’t think having perfect data and building a stable firing position and shooting a small target in sub 20 seconds is applicable than you are mistaken.

PRS Competitors:

If you’re a Mid pack shooter, 40th to 60th place:
Worth the investment and will shorten your learning curve, but you will need to take the course again a year or more later because there is too much to retain.

Target audience (my perception): 10th to 30th place: shooters who want to either improve consistency or sharpen some of the weaknesses in their game. Personally I felt like I had refined as much as I could on my own and needed help from a pro in this discipline to show me the specifics as well as tips and tricks acquired through years and years of pro matches and 10’s of thousands of dollars in match fees and barrels, components, etc.

I would take the course again, I still think there is knowledge to gain from Matt and whatever pro he brings in to assistant instruct.

“A must do for anyone serious about improving their PRS performance.”

“I highly recommend Matt’s 2 day course!”

- Kerry, Advanced Competitor Class 2023

“Great class!  Matt taught me a lot on bag placement and Efficiency when shooting a stage. It's been 2 years since I've taken his class and every match I've shot I've kept in mind a lot of what he's showed me from that class.”

“Highly recommend if you get the chance to take one of his classes it will help you through your prs journey.”

“Thanks Matt!”
